Can a foreign investor own 100% of an Omani company?

Yes, 100% foreign ownership is permitted for many business activities in Oman. However, some activities may be restricted, require special approval or have different regulatory requirements. Your intended business activity should therefore be reviewed before registration.

Do I have to be physically present in Oman?

A significant part of the company registration process can be completed electronically. However, physical presence may still be required for certain procedures such as bank verification, visa processing, identity verification or other regulatory requirements.

Does company registration automatically provide residency?

No. Company registration and visa or residency approval are related but separate processes. Eligibility to apply for an investor visa or other residency status depends on the company circumstances and applicable regulations. Final approval is issued by the relevant authorities.

Is opening a corporate bank account guaranteed?

No. Once the company is registered, an application can be submitted to an Omani bank. Banks conduct their own KYC and compliance procedures and may review the company activity, shareholders, source of funds and supporting documentation. Final approval is entirely at the bank's discretion.
